Test and troubleshoot
Check your setup end to end before real customers hit it, and fix the usual snags.
Run a test before you switch on
Send a start event as yourself
Sign in to your own site with an email address you own, then start a checkout (or signup, or trial) and leave without finishing.
Check Snagr received it
Open Activity in the sidebar. Your checkout_started should be there within a few seconds, with your email attached. A coding agent can check the same thing with the list_recent_events MCP tool.
Send yourself the email
Open each email in your flow and press Send test. Click the link and make sure it lands somewhere you can actually finish.
Finish, and check it stops
Complete the purchase. purchase_completed should appear in Activity, and your timeline in People should show the remaining reminders as stopped.
Common problems
Nobody is getting emails
- The flow is off. New flows, including ones an agent creates, start inactive.
- The email isn't verified. Browser events only lead to emails once your server has vouched for the address with
emailHash, or sent a secret-key event withemail. - The person opted out. Snagr never emails anyone who unsubscribed, bounced or reported spam.
- You're on Free after your first win. New reminders are held for about 10 days and go out as soon as you upgrade. See Plans and billing.
Reminders keep coming after someone paid
- The finish event has a different name from the one the flow waits for. Compare them in the flow editor and in Activity.
- The finish event is for a different person. Start and finish must share an email or
userId. - The finish is sent from the success page. Send it from your server after the payment is confirmed; people close tabs.
The revenue looks 100× too big
revenue is in normal currency units. Send 49, not 4900.
A payment was counted twice
Give every finish event a stable messageId, such as your order ID, so webhook retries are recognised.
Nudges don't show
- The page must load
sdk.jswith your publishable key. - The visitor must be someone the SDK recognises: signed in and identified, or seen before on that browser.
- Nudges are a Pro feature after your first recovered payment.
